Pickle Ball Courts
Pickle Ball has Come to Grace!
As you may have seen in the Randolph Register, thanks to a generous donation from Audrey Wicks in memory of her husband Frank, Grace Church now has a black-topped parking lot. However, not only did we get our parking lot paved, but we now have two brand, spanking new pickleball courts!!! The courts are open for the public to use, and we have all of the pickle ball equipment you will need (nets, paddles, balls) available. If you need access to the equipment, call (716)-499-5148.
Pickleball is the fastest growing sport in the country, and it is a sport all ages can participate in. If you're unfamiliar with pickleball, it is a paddle sport that combines elements of tennis, badminton, and ping-pong using paddles and plastic balls with holes (similar looking to wiffle balls).
Audrey had the parking lot put in a number or years ago in memory of her husband Frank. When asked why a parking lot as a memorial, Audrey said "Frankie and I enjoyed parking in our early years!" This year she decided to have the parking lot paved. But she didn't stop there….she decided that the parking lot was the perfect spot to house two pickleball courts. She and Frank always enjoyed sports. What a fitting memorial to Frank!
